When we hear about lung cancer, cigarette smoking quickly comes to mind as a major cause, but scientists have also found that some foods can lead to this serious disease.

Recent scientific studies have shown that dietary habits of the individual may also contribute to the chances of lung cancer.

Apart from smoking, you may not have to completely abstain from these foods, but you have to relieve them as much as possible, in order to avoid increasing the risk of contracting the disease.

These foods are:






1. Saturated fats:

These saturated fats are found in processed meats, dark chocolate and heavy cream.

A scientific study found that people who consume large amounts of saturated fats within their diet were more likely to develop lung cancer than those who were eating less daily.


2. Beta Carotene Supplements:

beta-carotene is naturally found in orange or yellow foods, such as carrots, peppers, pumpkin and mango, and has health benefits.

The problem, according to researchers, is the treatment of beta-carotene supplementation, which may have a negative impact on people who are smokers, especially when they are excessively treated, increasing their chances of cancer.

The study examined the identification of the manufactured beta-carotene supplementation, not the natural body. The study issued recommendations urging the acquisition of beta-carotenoids from their natural sources, and moving away from any factory source.


3. Refined carbohydrates

Refined carbohydrates, or refined carbs, are grain products that have been processed by a food manufacturer 

The researchers found that people who consume more sugars had higher chances of having lung cancer than those who consumed less sugar.


4. Grilled Meats

Some studies have shown that grilled meats of all kinds may contribute to increasing the incidence of many cancers such as pancreatic cancer, and breast cancer.

Smoke and fumes from grilled or burnt meats during grilling contain carcinogenic substances that may leak into meat to enter your body with what you eat after you finish the grill.


5. Foods and juices with arsenic: 

arsenic may be present in varying proportions in drinking water if contaminated, and some processed juices such as apple juice, rice, seafood and poultry.
