Experts report the presence of a large number of bacteria in the human mouth, ranging from 400 to 500 species, indicating that this figure may double at any moment to billions, according to "Mashable".

Since the normal human mouth is home to billions of bacteria, it becomes catastrophic for people who do not care for their teeth and mouth.

Specialists say that the failure to care for the toothbrush makes the mouth susceptible to new bacteria, may turn into diseases, noting that the brush contains on average more than 10 million bacteria, according to a study conducted at the University of Manchester in England.

Researchers from the University of Alabama in Birmingham also found that the brush, often found in the bathroom, becomes susceptible to bacteria that reproduce day by day.

Here are 5 tips to use a toothbrush in the right way:

1-Try to change it every 3 months:

Some people change their brush only when they are mutilated or broken, but this is unhealthy, as doctors recommend that you need to buy a new toothbrush every 3 or 4 months.

2. Replacement of the electric Brush Head:

A new study from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston found that the brush head is experiencing a double bacterial growth, so it is advisable to replace it periodically.

3-Sterilization:

Doctor Donna Warren Morris, a specialist in dental health, says it is important to sterilize the toothbrush after each use.

4. Abandonment of cover:

A previous study found that plastic sheeting for brush helps the growth and reproduction of bacteria, so it is not advisable to cover or store the toothbrush inside these lids.

5-keep it away from the toilet:

the areas around the toilet are contaminated with germ and microorganisms. To avoid this, it is advisable to take precautions by keeping your brush away and placing it in a covered closet to protect it from the bacteria that travels through the air.

some tips to keep your toothbrush as germ-free as possible:

  • Rinse your toothbrush thoroughly with tap water every time you use it.
  • Let your toothbrush dry thoroughly between brushings. Don't use toothbrush covers, which can create a moist enclosed breeding ground for bacteria.
  • Keep your toothbrush upright in a holder, rather than lying it down.
  • Don't ever use anyone else's toothbrush, or let someone use yours.
  • Keep toothbrushes separate. If toothbrushes touch they can swap germs.
