PewDiePie in the spotlight after shooting in New Zealand

PewDiePie, one of YouTube's biggest celebrities, has found himself involved in the news coverage of a group photograph of two mosques in New Zealand.

YouTube star PewDiePie made an effort to distance himself from a perpetrator in the fatal Christchurch, New Zealand mosque shootings after the attacker reportedly called out “subscribe to Pewdiepie”During the broadcast

Mr. Kilberg was quick to free himself from the shooting



He said on Twitter: "Just heard news of the devastating reports from New Zealand Christchurch. I feel absolutely sickened having my name uttered by this person.My heart and thoughts go out to the victims, families and everyone affected by this tragedy".


Mr. Kjellberg is no stranger to controversy in recent years, embraced by some of the far right and has been criticized for using anti-Semitic images and racial and sexual language.

Other popular Youtubers tweeted support for Kjellberg, who has the most-subscribed-to channel on the video platform with 89 million followers. "PewDiePie" was a trending topic on Twitter Friday afternoon.



Kjellberg, who produces comedy videos and video game , has previously apologized for his videos. Disney’s Maker Studios ended its ties to the creator in 2017 after he posted anti-Semitic videos., Kjellberg was caught saying the n-word during a livestream on Twitch.
