Apple unveiled its new generation of smartwatches last week, including the Watch Series 8 and #AppleWatchUltra.
Apple has equipped its smartwatch with many technologies that make it the perfect tool for maintaining safety and security, as these watches can help the wearer survive “dangerous situations.”
The Sun revealed how the new Apple Watch can help save people in difficult situations, as follows:
Detecting traffic accidents
Apple included the new watch models with a feature called Crash Detection, where the company created a special algorithm that absorbs data from various sensors such as accelerometers, barometers, GPS, microphones, etc., and uses this data to determine if a person is about to have a severe accident.
In the event someone has a severe traffic accident, the watch will ask the user to tap to call emergency services or cancel the popup, and if the wearer does not respond after a 10-second countdown, an emergency protocol will start working which will share the device’s location with emergency services as well as the wearer’s contacts .
This feature works best if the person also owns an iPhone, as it will save more data.
track the way
The new Apple Watch Ultra gets some extra features, as it has a built-in compass app with special features called Waypoints and Backtrack.
You can record your coordinates and markers with the watch while on a hike, where a distinctive sign or junction can be marked with the new orange button on the side of your Apple Watch Ultra.
And if the user gets lost at any time, they can use the Backtrack feature, a special guidance tool that helps track steps.
emergency alarm
The new Apple Watch Ultra has a siren feature, as Apple has built a powerful speaker into the side of the watch and when activated, the watch will emit an 86 decibel siren, which can be heard from up to 600 feet away.
The company explained that the sirens are designed for emergency situations, in the event that users are lost or injured.
Additional Features
Apple Watch Ultra includes all of the connectivity, activity, and health features that have made Apple Watch the best-selling smartwatch in the world
— heart rate monitoring and the ECG
— Blood Oxygen apps, to Activity rings and Mindfulness, along with additional health, safety, and navigation features.
— Using two new motion sensors and an advanced sensor-fusion algorithm, Apple Watch can detect a severe car crash with Crash Detection.
— When Apple Watch detects a severe car crash, the device will check in with the user and dial emergency services if they are unresponsive after a 10-second countdown. Emergency responders will receive the user’s device location, which is also shared with emergency contacts.
women’s health
— Apple Watch Ultra features innovative new temperature-sensing capabilities that enable further insights into women’s health.
— The unique two-sensor design reduces bias from the outside environment and the body itself.
— Utilizing the new capabilities, users can receive retrospective ovulation estimates, which can be helpful for family planning.
— Temperature sensing also enables improved period predictions for users who menstruate.
